When to use On Demand services
Does your program or office have:
I can provide exceptional quality, tailored and direct ME(AL) support to your teams in any scenario where you need technical ME(AL) support for a time-limited period.
- A need for on-the-job training, or ME(AL) skill building, for program and ME(AL) teams that regular contact with a technical expert can provide?
- Difficulty funding permanent ME(AL) technical advisors, or a smaller program that doesn't justify full-time ME(AL) technical support?
- A busy program period or large ME(AL) activity coming up that requires additional support or technical backstopping?
- A new program that's setting up its ME(AL) system, or an existing program that's reviewing its ME(AL) system and needs technical input?
- A desire to work with a technical expert to improve ME(AL) approaches in any area of a ME(AL) system?

How to use On Demand services
On Demand ME(AL) T.A. services can be booked in monthly blocks, as required. You can book services month-to-month or a longer block of services in advance - the service is flexible to meet your ME(AL) support needs.
Staff will then have access to expert ME(AL) technical advice whenever they require throughout the month. There's no need to set specific days or deliverables; when you need expert ME(AL) input on a task, you and your staff can get it.
There are a limited number of places per month in order to ensure high-quality service provision.
Pricing depends on the size of your team and program. I aim to keep this service affordable and structure pricing based on ME(AL) advisor salary scales rather than traditional consulting fee structures. Contact me for a quote.

What can a ME(AL) T.A. do?
Having worked in national, regional and global level ME(AL) positions, I have seen the difference an expert ME(AL) Technical Advisor can make to the performance of a ME(AL) system and team. There's no single textbook or resource outlining exactly what to do for every ME(AL) need, so that's where connecting to an expert ME(AL) T.A. - with wide-ranging technical knowledge, grounded in practical program experience - can make a difference.
A trustworthy ME(AL) T.A. is someone who is there to bounce ideas off, to troubleshoot current ME(AL) problems, to flag potential future problems, to be a second set of eyes, to teach new skills as programs and ME(AL) needs evolve, and to mentor and grow the ME(AL) capabilities of a team.
A better performing ME(AL) system leads to a better performing program and, ultimately, better outcomes for the communities we work with.
In addition to T.A. feedback being a vital part of on-the-job learning and development for ME(AL) staff, a T.A can review, provide feedback, advise and support program and ME(AL) teams on pieces of work such as:

Coordinated or joint ME(AL) systems between partners and consortium members. |
ME(AL) team human resourcing, including reviewing Terms of Reference/Job Descriptions, screening candidates and reviewing team structures or organograms. |
Data collection and management tools, indicators, methodologies, sampling, training and SOPs. |
Logic models (theories of change, results frameworks, logframes). |
ME(AL) field work, including logistics plans, budgeting, training enumerators or sampling. |
ME(AL) Frameworks, systems, processes, indicators, tools. |
Feedback and complaints mechanisms, including management of this data and associated SOPs. |
Electronic data collection (KoBo and other ODK compatible apps), including reviewing and troubleshooting survey tools and developing mobile data collection SOPs. |
Program participant data management, including counting program participants reached and impacted and managing registration and distribution data. |
The policies, procedures and practicalities of information management. |
Collecting and using program learning and developing systems to manage that knowledge. |
And other areas of work you may call on an ME(AL) Advisor to support. |
What can't a ME(AL) T.A. do?
ME(AL) Technical Advisors advise, coach and support program and ME(AL) teams to complete ME(AL) activities with the objective of improving ME(AL) systems and knowledge. A T.A. is not a replacement for a manager or coordinator, and does not hold responsibility for developing workplans or tasks being submitted to deadline (although can review and provide advise on how best to structure workplans or reach deadlines).
What is the different between ME(AL) Advisory services and ME(AL) Consulting services? Under my On Demand ME(AL) Advisory service I will support and teach program and ME(AL) staff to deliver ME(AL) tasks, growing staff knowledge and capacity for ME(AL) work. For example, in a baseline assessment process, I can provide feedback on the baseline plan and tools, troubleshoot challenges that arise in implementation and give feedback on the final report.
As a ME(AL) Consultant, I will lead the completion of ME(AL) tasks that require someone independent of the program to deliver. For example, in a baseline assessment process, I can write the baseline plan and draft the tools, lead the field exercise, analyse the data and write the report.
If you need a ME(AL) consultant, please see my page outlining the ME(AL) consultancy services I offer.
